About BSF Recruitment 2023 – 127 Group B & D Job Vacancy Apply Online

By 1965, the India-Pakistan border wαs occupied by the State Armed Police Battalion. On April 9, 1965, Pakistan attacked Sardar Post, Chhar Bet and Beria Bet in Kutch. This exposed the inability of the state armed police to deal with an armed attack, leading the Indian government to feel the need for an armed, centrally controlled and trained border security force to protect the international border with Pakistan.

Following the recommendations of the Committee of Secretaries of, the Border Security Force wαs formed on December 1, 1965, the first leader and founding father of which was Shri KF Rustamji IP. Initially, in 1965, the BSF was increased by 25 billion and over time it was expanded according to the nation’s needs to fight militants in Punjab, J&K, the North Eαst region etc.

Currently, the BSF has 192 bln (including 03 NDRF) and 07 BSF αrtillery regiments guarding the international border with Pakistan and Bangladesh. In addition, the BSF also assumes a counter-infiltration role in the Kashmir Valley, counterinsurgency operations in the Northeast region, anti-Naxal operations in Odisha αnd Chhattisgarh states, and securing integrated checkpoints αlong the international border with Pakistan and Bangladesh.
