The Cotton Corporation of India (CCI): Cotton Farmer’s Friend & A reliable cotton supplier for the textile industry. The CCI was incorporated on 31 July 1970 under the administrative control of the Ministry of Textiles of the Government of India as a public sector company under the Companies Act 1956. At the beginning of its inception, the CCI acted as the health authority for the textile mills as the sole public sector company in the field of cotton marketing.
The role and function of the IHK has steadily increased with the changing cotton situation in the country. The main task of the CCI is now to implement price support measures when the market prices for kapa fall below the minimum support prices (MSPs) announced by the government.India, no quantity limit. In addition to MSP activities, CCI conducts commercial purchasing activities to meet the domestic textile industry’s need for raw materials, especially during the dry season.
Aiming to protect the economic interests of cotton farmers in all cotton-growing regions and to ensure a constant supply of high-quality cotton to the textile industry in India, the company is represented across India with its headquarters in CBD Belapur, Navi Mumbai (Maharashtra), 19 branches and over 400 cotton supply centers in all major cotton-growing countries.
