The health system has a primary care network, a secondary health system consisting of regional and sub-hospitals, and tertiary hospitals that provide specialized and super-specialized care. The District is led by a Chief Medical Officer of Health (C.M.O.H.) assisted by a Deputy and Assistant C.M.O.H., whose role is to manage the primary health sector and ensure effective implementation of various medical, health and family programs.

Second degree hospitals are managed by medically trained superintendents who are in charge of the C.M.O.H. and Rogi Kalyan Samity. At the map level, the ward doctor is responsible for the delivery of services and the monitoring and supervision of the implementation of the primary health centers and the health program. Various educational activities are organized through hospital-based and nursing schools.
