The vision of the Chief Minister during his tenure as Chief Minister of Gujarat is to renovate bus terminals with international airport facilities. The government has already built six such bus terminals – two each at Gita Mandir and Ranip in Ahmedabad, two each at Vadodara Central and Makarpura, Surat and Mehsana. Ahmedabad Central Bus Station Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has now proposed construction of ten modern district level bus terminals at Amreli, Bhuj, Bharuchi, Rajkot, Nadiad, Navsari, Modasa, Patan and Palanpur at a cost of Rs 913.30 crore with commercial facilities.
Boats with helipads are also planned. Each bus station offers direct flights to Mumbai, Delhi and Bengaluru. GSRTC is training its drivers to fly helicopters and airplanes to launch the service. Each of these ten design, build, operate and move will have a digital screen, changeable notice boards, CCTV cameras, surveillance system, luxury waiting room, tourist information, dressing rooms, restaurants, eateries, plazas, budget hotels and an array of channels for the business of Gujarat.
