About HPPSC Recruitment 2023 – Judicial Service Competitive Exam 2023 Apply Online Best Indian Government Jobs

Himachal Pradesh became a state on January 25, 1971. Prior to this date, the function of the Civil Service Commission for positions related to the civil service and land affairs of the Union of Himachal Pradesh was performed by the civil union of the Civil Service Commission under Section 315 of the Constitution of India. Therefore, it was up to the state to have its own commission of civil servants.

However, since the State Civil Service Commission could be established concurrently with the State, the Union Civil Service Commission, at the request of the Governor of Himachal Pradesh and with the approval of the President of India, agreed to serve the needs of Himachal Pradesh pending the establishment of the State Civil Service Commission or for a period of three months from 25 January 1971, whichever occurs first.

The Himachal Pradesh Civil Service Commission (Membership) 1971 was served by the Governor of Himachal Pradesh on 8 April 1971 under the powers conferred on him by Section 318 of the Constitution of India.These statutes provided that the Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission would consist of a chairman and two members appointed by the governor.
