About IAAD Recruitment 2023 – 1773 Administrative Asst Posts Apply Online IndGovtjobs
The Indian Audit and Accounts Service is a Central Group A Central Civil Service under the Comptroller and Auditor General of India. Central officers of the Indian Audit and Accounts Service act as Audit Directors of the Indian Audit and Accounts Department. IAandAS is responsible for auditing the accounts of the Union and State Governments and public sector organizations and maintaining the accounts of the State Governments.
Its role is somewhat similar to that of the US GAO and the National Audit Office (UK). The service can be distributed to officials dealing with accounting and auditing matters related to federal and state governments, as well as at departmental headquarters. State accounting and auditing institutions are headed by chief accountants or chief accountants. They are functionally equivalent; only the names differ.
Large states have three Accountants General (PAsG) or Auditors General (AsG), each headed by Accounts and Justice (i.e. preparation of government accounts, management of pension accounts, loan accounts, etc.), Cluster 1 (General Administration, Finance, Health and Family). Welfare, water resources, rural development, PRI, agriculture and food) or cluster 2 (energy, electricity, industry and trade, transport, urban development, environment, liivT, information technology public works, law and order, art and culture) The responsible officials at the central level are Directors General (PD) or Directors General (DsG).
PDs, DsG, AsG and PAsG report to Additional Assistant CAG or Deputy CAG. Deputy CAGs are the most senior officers in the service. After training, trainee officers are posted as Help Accounts Officers to Group A Junior Grade Assistant Managers, who are then promoted to Help Accounts Officers (DAsG) or Help Managers (DD) in the senior schedule. After promotion they become Deputy Senior Accountant (Sr.DAsG) or Managers. All officers below the level of AG/PD are also called Group Officers as they are generally responsible for a group in the office.
