The JNU Act was passed in the Lok Sabha on November 16, 1966 and the JNU Act came into force on April 22,1969. The Indian School of International Studies was merged with Jawaharlal Nehru University in June 1970. named after the school and became the Jawaharlal Nehru University School of International Studies.
