Mineral Exploration and Consultancy Limited (MECL) (formerly Mineral Exploration Corporation Ltd.) was established in October 1972 as an independent public sector company under the Ministry of Mines, Government of India to undertake systematic mineral exploration. between the possible discovery of the original and its possible exploitation. MECL’s mission is to “provide quality, cost-effective and timely geoscience services for mineral exploration and exploitation”.
MECL has executed more than 1621 projects/reports and generated 199527 million tons of ores/minerals like coal, lignite, bauxite, copper, gold, lead-zinc, iron ore, limestone, manganese, magnesite, chromite, fluorite and many others. Industrial Minerals Establishment (June 30, 2023). More recently, it has expanded into mining and mineral beneficiation, as well as coal reservoir sampling and analysis.
