About NIT Calicut Recruitment 2023 – 150 Non Teaching Posts Apply Online IndGovtjobs

NIT Calicut Recruitment 2023 – 150 Non Teaching Posts Apply Online IndGovtjobs

National Institute of Technology Calicut (NITC) is one of the 31 Institutes of National Importance established by an Act of Parliament (National Institute of Technology Act, 2007) and is fully funded by the Government of India. The institute’s mission is to provide technical higher education and conduct research in various fields of technology, science, engineering and management. Originally established in 1961 as a Regional Engineering College (REC), it was converted into a National Institute of Technology in 2002.

The institute offers undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs in engineering, science, technology and management. Through proactive collaboration with many research organizations, academic institutions and industries, the institute has created a new style of operating its NIT system. NIT Calicut is located in a picturesque landscape at the foothills of the Western Ghats, approximately 22 km northeast of Calicut, Kerala, India. It stretches along the Calicut-Mukkam highway for about 1.5 kilometers and covers an area of about 120 acres.

Calicut, also known as Kozhikode, located in the Malabar region of Kerala state, found its place in world history when the Portuguese navigator Vasco Da Gama discovered the sea route to India in 1 98. Idyllically situated with the Arabian Sea to the west and the majestic peaks from the Wayanad Hills in the east, Calicut is known for its serene beaches, lush countryside, historical sites, tranquil backwaters, wildlife sanctuaries, rivers and waterfalls. Being a fully residential campus, its infrastructure includes academic buildings, research laboratories, hostels, residences and other amenities.

The institute currently offers 11 UG programs and 29 PG programs including MBA. Doctoral-level research has increased significantly recently, as the number of research papers and patents has increased significantly. Many of the changes occurring in academic institutions are necessary to adapt to the changes that occur through the control of nature and also to the results of human efforts in the field of knowledge and skills. This happened with the intention of converting the most important Regional Engineering Colleges (RECs) into new institutions of national importance.

The enactment of the NIT Law in 2007 encouraged the growth of a new generation of National Institutes of Technology (NITs), which are built to improve social equality in quality science, technology, engineering and engineering education. possession of. The primary goal of national integration envisioned for RECs was retained in the formation of NITs, but a new research focus was added to the mandate.

Originally established as a Regional Technical College (REC) in 1961, National Institute of Technology Calicut started its victorious journey with a new spirit in 2002 with a new name and mandate. That helped the Institute to expand the spectrum of services offered to humanity; The institute now offers undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs in engineering, science, technology and management. The Malabar region, where the institute is located, is the northern part of the state of Kerala and is an ecotourism destination.

The region is rapidly developing and vibrant in all areas of human life; no smoke and suffocation from heavy industry. Local entrepreneurship, small-scale industries and foreign jobs for local people, combined with revolutionary land reforms, led to an equal distribution of development throughout the region. Perhaps the entire state of Kerala will benefit from these enabling factors.

This development helped eliminate the differences between the city and the countryside. The threat of global warming has not yet succeeded in stealing the natural beauty of the landscape. Anyone can enjoy it from the tops of the hills marking the undulating terrain. Malabar is historically known for its spices and trade with the Middle East.

As an institution of higher education and research, NIT Calicut cannot be left out of this growth pattern, but through its many proactive actions has taken a leading position in regional development as a friend, philosopher and guide. The faculty faces many challenges due to the princely treatment of the institution by the public. Therefore, the infrastructure for testing, research and development is constantly being improved.
