The Ordnance Factory Khamaria is a key ammunition production unit within the Ministry of Defense. The factory covers a large area of ​​259 hectares, the explosives warehouse 303 hectares and the estate 1,430 hectares. The factory was established in 1943 during World War II as one of the Eastern Group’s projects to meet the ammunition needs of Allied forces.

After regaining independence, the factory’s product range was diversified to meet the operational needs of different armed forces and armies. During the 1962 China war and the 1965 and 1971 wars in Pakistan, the factory was expanded to meet the new needs of the Army, Air Force and Navy.

The current production activity of the plant is a combination of the manufacture of hardware components, the filling of explosives and the assembly of ammunition. It consists of three main production departments
