In 2007, by order of the Board of Railways, a railway recruitment cell was set up in Hubli, Karnataka to take over the recruitment work of the “D” Group for the South Western Railway. South Western Railway is one of the newly established railways, established in 2003, consisting of three divisions: Hubli, Bangalore and Mysore and two workshops in Hubli and Mysore.

The head office of the area is in Hubli, Karnataka. The South Western Railway’s jurisdiction covers the entire state of Karnataka, the state of Goa and parts of Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu. Rail Recruitment Cell, Hubli was set up with the intention of recruiting personnel from Group D categories such as Railroad Workers, Khalasis, Operating & Commercial Carriers, Safaiwalas, etc. Note: Rail Recruitment Cell, Hubli (RRC/UBL) has not established an agency or coaching center to act on its behalf.

Applicants are advised not to make such statements of individuals/agencies. The entire recruitment process is very transparent, with the physical fitness test being conducted by an official committee of three people and the entire exercise being filmed. The written exam will be conducted on OMR paperwork and computer based scoring will be used.
