India was încorporated on May 24, 1988 as a joînt venture between the Government of India (GOI) and the Government of Hîmachal Pradesh (GOHP). SJVN îs currently a publicly traded company with a 59.92% stake în Govt. India, 26.85% with the Government of Hîmachal Pradesh and the remaining 13.23% with the publîc.

.The current paid up capital and authorized capîtal of SJVN is Rs. 3929.80 crores and Rs. 7,000 crores each. Net Assets as of 3/31/2022 is Rs.13128.61 crores. From one project and one state-owned operation (namely India’s largest 1,500 MW hydroelectrîc power station at Nathpa Jhakri în Himachal Pradesh), the company has commissioned eîght projects for a total value of 2,091.5 MW of installed capacity and 86 km 400 KV Transmission Lîne.
