The Postgraduate Institute of Child Health (PGICH), formerly known as the Pediatric Super Specialty Hospital and Postgraduate Teaching Institute (an autonomous facility governed by UP), is located in Sector 30, Noida and is a unique facility that is on par with Children’s Hospitals West is designed to provide quality pediatric care, graduate and postgraduate teaching and training, and molecular biology research in various areas of pediatrics and pediatric surgery.

In India, with a population of over 1,300 million, there are over 500 million children under the age of 14, of whom around 80 to 90 million live in Uttar Pradesh alone. Despite advances, almost 80% of children do not have access to specialist medical and surgical care.

Therefore, it is necessary to create a highly specialized center that offers cutting-edge medical treatments in the fields of rare diseases, neonatal, pediatric and adolescent surgery, dialysis, organ transplants and research (stem cells, cytogenetics, tissue engineering, bioinformatics, intelligence) under one roof with a dedicated full-time faculty, researchers and staff.

The institute is in the initial and development phase and has 16 basic and clinical disciplines managing the OPD, premises, operating room, laboratory services and radiology service. Several branches organize special consultation hours in the afternoon. Four more departments are expected to open shortly.

In addition, there are plans to open several new departments and centers (Childhood Oncology Center, Bone Marrow Center, Kidney and Liver Transplant Center, Skills Development Center, Spodiacy Center and DSD Center) in the future.Once fully operational, the institute will not only educate more than 100 resident physicians in MD/MS, DM and M.Ch, but also postgraduate students bringing human capital to pediatric consultants, resident physicians and highly qualified researchers in India on an annual basis.
