Bhabani Prasad Bhattacharya was born in Joydebpur, Dhaka. During his student life, he joined a revolutionary organization. He went to Darjeeling in 193 with two other activists with the intention of assassinating the infamous governor Anderson. They shot at Anderson at the Lebong Raceway on August 5, 193 .

The shots missed and all three were arrested. At the trial, one of the accomplices was acquitted by pleading guilty, the other was imprisoned and Bhabani Prasad received the death penalty. He was hanged in Rajshahi Central Jail on February 3, 1935. History will always remember him as a great patriot.
